The information technology (IT) sector is one of the most developed sectors today. This will define the organizational structure, business processes and business functions of the company. Development will be defined in more detail and the structure of IT sector financing in the Republic of Croatia will be presented. What are the key factors for future development and what are the future challenges for the development of IT companies? The aim of this paper is to analyze and identify the organizational preconditions for future business development of the selected IT company. The study was conducted on a case study of an IT company from Eastern Croatia. The semi-structured due diligence method analyzes issues such as a clearly defined organizational structure, the role of government financial incentives in the development of IT companies, and what are the challenges of long-term customer retention in the IT sector. The research findings suggest that the organizational structure in IT companies must be clearly defined because any new product or project requires employee engagement from all business divisions in the company. State incentives intended for start-up companies and to positively influence the development and popularization of start-ups. It is challenging for an IT company to maintain a long-term business relationship with customers, but with a strategic plan and a well-developed relationship with customers, there are chances for long-term business.
