Tourism can be broadly defined as a set of relationships and phenomena arising from travel. In order for a person to be considered a tourist, the basic criteria must be fulfilled, ie that the basic motive does not arise from the acquisition of profit, that the journey lasts for a certain period, that the person travels outside the place of permanent residence and the like. Tourism has become a lucrative business today, which can be an extremely important factor for the development of the country's economy, and marketing efforts to create new tourism products have influenced the development of cultural tourism. There is a growing number of people in the world who actively spend their holidays and choose their destination with a strong cultural motive. It is this motif that is the main aspect of this paper which outlines the impact of cultural tourism on the economy. Research methods used in the paper are analyze and synthesize, describe methods, inductive methods. Through theoretical analysis of secondary data sources, results have been obtained that show how the appropriate method of influencing cultural tourism on the economy is used, and can be equated with the relative assessment that was precisely the case with the Republic of Croatia and provoking the first high number of tourism. It is also possible to draw brief conclusions that cultural tourism in the world and in Republic of Croatia is increasingly recognized and constantly increasing, and its impact on the economy can be calculated qualitatively and quantitatively.
