The aim of this work is to investigate the advantages and disadvantages of remote work and to determine the differences in the use of such work before and after the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. Until the emergence of the coronavirus pandemic, as a kind of turning point, the concept of remote work was less prevalent and mostly characterized by poor public information about this form of work. The application of such a way of working was, until then, mostly limited to the sector of information and communication technologies and related professions. After the outbreak of the pandemic, the application of remote work spread from the information and communication technology sector to almost all sectors, i.e. companies that, considering the nature of the work, were able to implement this way of working. Highly developed countries recorded a greater growth in the application of remote work after the pandemic, while countries with a weaker economic status remained below the European Union average in the application of this form of work in the total employment of the population. This paper depicts the changes and development of remote work both before and after the coronavirus pandemic, exploring how this form of work has become more widespread and how aspects of the application and perception of remote work have changed. The work and research used secondary methods of data collection, the questionnaire method, as well as the inductive and deductive method and the method of description.
