In musical context the word method, as opposed to its methodological and didactic meaning, is used for the approach of mastering intonation. Methods of intonation can be divided into two groups: methods of relative intonation and methods of absolute intonation. These methods lead to the achievement of set goals of learning and teaching. Methods of relative intonation include numerical methods (Germany and France), the tonic-solfa method, the tonic-do method, and Jale and Kodäly method. Methods of absolute intonation are singing of the musical alphabet, solmization, and the method of Tone-Words - Tonwortmethode by Carl Eltz. Through the music theory subject Solfeggio, the students are acquiring the language of music and learning the musical notation. Solfeggio is a mandatory subject in the whole music education system with clearly defined objectives and tasks, as well as content of teaching, based on implementing procedures and methods are determined. Through the procedures and methods, we acquire knowledge and develop skills. The knowledge and skills are stated in the outcomes of learning which the student is going to acquire after a certain level of education. In order to meet the requirements of the outcomes, it is necessary to provide quality education of Solfeggio which is achieved through different activities. These activities include vocal warm-ups, which are the integral part of every Solfeggio class,melodic dictations and singing, with special emphasis on prima vista singing (sight-singing).
