Evaluation and grading in Musical arts classes are an important part of the educational process which carries with itself some difficulties and subjectivity issues. The subject of this thesis is to investigate different approaches to evaluating and grading in Musical arts classes and to investigate the opinions and attitude of both students and teachers regarding the issue. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the problem of evaluating and grading is being researched, but also the elements that affect the subjectivity of the grade. Also, it gives advice and methods regarding grading which will contribute to giving a more objective grade in Musical arts class. In the scope of the thesis, research has been done in six elementary schools of which two are in Osijek, two are in Požega, one was in Kaptol and one in Velika. An anonymous survey has been conducted on 8th-grade students and Musical arts teachers (total of 299 respondents from which 269 of whom were students and 30 where Musical arts teachers) which have shared their opinions about grading in Musical arts classes and gave their insight to the most commonly graded parts of Musical arts class. Results of the research have shown there are significant differences between teachers and students in their attitudes towards evaluating and grading. Teachers find that in the greatest extent they evaluate individual and group music listening and singing, and find that for the excellent grade students don't need specially developed musical abilities. At the same time, almost half of the students think the opposite. Also, the teachers have said in a much greater extent that they conduct individual and group grading then the students have. Besides that, the research showed that the Musical arts teachers don't evaluate all the teaching areas the same.
