Ever since ancient times people have had the urge to establish societies and organisations in order to achieve their common objectives more easily. Founding organisations enabled them to achieve aims and ideas. Non-profit organisations are founded in order to achieve social development of a community, whereas profit organisations are founded so that individuals could generate an income and ensure their existence. This paper will cover the term organisation, types of organisations and their importance as well as funding of non-profit organisations. Since non-profit organisations or institutions have a significant importance for society, they must provide certain resources and funding. Leadership or management of these organisations and their members have the obligation to collect and provide financial and other resources in order to be able to offer services and accomplish the set objectives, which were the reason for the establishment in the first place. This paper will attempt to elaborate on the work invested and possible ways of providing financial resources, as well as the importance of non-profit organisations for prosperity of society as a whole. Financial resources are necessary to be able to offer certain services, regardless of their field of work, the type they belong to and their founder (an individual or the state). The funding can come from various sources, which will be analysed in the thesis. The paper will analyse data of financial sources approved through the Public call of the Ministry of Culture in the field of visual arts, sources approved by The Programme of Public Needs in the Culture of Osijek for the year 2022, and Public tender for donations provided by HEP Group “Svjetlo na zajedničkom putu” (Light on our Way).
