Abstract
Ovaj rad usmjeren je na proučavanje utjecaja pojave novih medijskih alata i mrežnih platformi na kvalitetu života u europskim gradovima. Grad se unutar rada promatra kao 'zajedničko dobro' svojih stanovnika koje sve češće gubi borbu s individualnim interesima i komodifikacijom. Postojanje individualnih interesa usporedit ćemo s praksama urbanog turizma čiji razvoj je potaknula mrežna povezanost te dostupnost informacija i resursa na mrežnim platformama kolaborativne ekonomije, s posebnim naglaskom na najznačajniju turističku platformu Airbnb. Airbnb novi je medijski alat koji predlaže ideju pravednijeg i jednostavnijeg turističkog poslovanja dostupnog svakom pojedincu. Temelji li se poslovanje uistinu na takvim principima, te kako postojanje Airbnba izravno utječe na pretpostavljeni identitet gradova, pitanja su na koja ćemo pokušati pronaći odgovore unutar ovoga rada.
Abstract (english)
This paper aims to study the impact of the emergence of new media tools and network platforms on the quality of life in European cities. Within this work the city is seen as a 'common good' of its inhabitants that is increasingly losing the struggle with the individual interests and commodification. The existence of individual interests will be connected with the practices of urban tourism that were powered by the network connectivity and the availability of information and resources on the network platforms of the collaborative economy. The special emphasis will be put on the most important tourism platform – Airbnb. Airbnb is a new media tool that proposes the idea of fairer and simpler tourism business available to every individual. Whether the business is truly based on such principles, and how the existence of Airbnb directly affects the presumed urban identities, are questions to which we will try to find answers within this paper.
